Get Outside
Local parks and recreation departments allow the communities of Dickson County to connect with nature and other people. Park facilities across the county encourage walking, biking, running, boating and fishing, while many feature playgrounds as well. Youth sports are offered year-round with seasons set aside for baseball, softball, soccer and basketball, among others.
With excellent weather for much of the year, golfing is a popular recreational activity in the area. Montgomery Bell State Park features the Frank G. Clement Golf Course, while GreyStone Golf Club, east of downtown Dickson, has been the site of several PGA Tour qualifying events over the years.

Rich History
With a deep history dating back to the times of the Cumberland Furnace Iron Works, many of Dickson County’s historic buildings and sites remain functional today. The historic Dickson County Courthouse in Charlotte still houses county offices while the Courthouse Square Historic District was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Other historic sites of note in the county include Cumberland Furnace Iron Museum, Drouillard House, Clement Railroad Hotel Museum, Old Spencer Mill, War Memorial Building and Promise Land Church.
Tennessee’s Top State Park
One of Tennessee State Parks’ greatest assets, Montgomery Bell State Park, is right here in Dickson County. Established in 1943 and named for an iron industry magnate, the 3,782-acre park attracts visitors from all over the state and Southeast. Popular activities include fishing, paddling, boating and swimming in the park's three lakes along with hiking, biking and birding on the park’s miles of trails.
The hotel at the park gives local businesses the ability to host conferences and clients, just 7-miles east of the City of Dickson. The park’s conference center can host up to 500 people, while the attached inn offers 120 rooms and five suites. The park also has eight environmentally friendly modern cabins available for rent along with 94 campsites for tent and RV camping.
